Accepting yourself is not calling it finished
True acceptance gives you ground to grow; complacency leaves you motionless.
Accepting yourself means looking straight at your qualities, limits, wounds, and mistakes without inventing a persona. It does not demand that you like everything or call a flaw a virtue. It only prevents you from wasting your life fighting against the fact of being who you are.
From that solid ground you can work. If you deny a weakness, you won't be able to ask for help; if you insult yourself for having it, you will lose strength; if you recognize it with humility, you can choose a proportionate step. Peace and high standards are not enemies.
God loves you now, not only after your future improvement. That very love makes change possible without turning every fall into a verdict on your worth. You can say at the same time: "this is part of my reality" and "this doesn't have to stay this way."
Key idea
Accepting yourself is recognizing reality with peace so you can transform it with hope.
